Trikke’s an adventure (hopefully worth $25,000)

Jeri Thompson rides Trikke

Will ride Trikke for $25,000.

Most Trikke riders would agree: our 3CV’s are one of life’s greatest adventures. So when I learned of a Photobucket contest called Life’s an Adventure, naturally, I thought of my trusted steed, Black Birdie, a Trikke T8.

A short time later, I submitted my entry, Adventure W/My Trikke, which chronicles my journey on three wheels. The winner of “Life’s An Adventure” receives $25,000 and lots of exposure for their project. Family, friends and associated onlookers “like” the projects through December 9, 2012. That’s one of the ways the contest is judged. Then there is a panel vote.

Photobucket is a photo sharing site that offers free accounts as well as paid services for the more professional. When you upload a photo or album in Photobucket, you are provided with different types of code for different applications you might have in store for your photos. When I worked on the California Bicycle Coalition online auctions, I used Photobucket for all the photos that I embedded into the auction website. One can also use Photobucket for sharing photos and videos with friends. All free.

Adventure W/My Trikke

Most of my life is void of photos, but what an explosion of images I have collected since learning to carve. I have photos of my first day on Blue Birdie, as well as one of the first rides in So Cal with five participants then cut to a recent group shot of the Halloween ride with about 40 strong.

Adventures W/My Trikke chronicles my journey starting with a 283 lb. smoking diabetic woman who frankly, let herself go. This same woman spent most of her time alone with her cats, on the couch, watching way-too-much TV. This woman has now vanished — transformed — resurrected herself into a confident, carving chick with a weight loss of 60 lbs. and 20 inches, who is no longer transfixed by the tube or chain smoking in front of said appliance.

I could speak volumes on my journey, but why bother when a picture is worth a thousand words. You must have a Photobucket account to “like” my project. It’s not a bad thing to have, and it’s free. You can also simply view it if you’re curious about one carver’s inspirational journey!

I want to win this contest, with your help…
