Attendees Learn Tech, History, Marketing and More
For the next four days, enrollees at the Trikke Academy’s last weekend seminar of the year will get a comprehensive and thorough education — complete with examinations — on all things Trikke, after which the Academy will set forth into the world another group of trainers, destined to show the planet, “how to make it go.”
After hosting Academies in Las Vegas, Hollywood Beach, FL, Chicago and Utah in 2011, it’s no coincidence Director Fred Welch scheduled the year’s final Academy in the LA enclave known as Redondo Beach.
“Typically, this is our biggest Academy of the year,” said Welch, who started the program in 2007. “We’re going to have G here (Trikke inventor Gildo Beleski), along with one of our strongest local dealers, SouthBay Trikke, who’s from this area. Plus, it’s being held right by the beach.”
Participants of the four-day event will learn about Trikke technology from the ground up, as taught by the Academy’s Technical Coordinator Andy Pliska of SouthBay Trikke (official local dealer of the magazine).
In addition to an introduction to the Trikke Skki, students will also be schooled on the history of Trikke Tech, Inc., the company that makes Trikkes, and receive guidance on the sales and marketing front.
And of course, carving is a mainstay of the Academy curriculum, including lessons in hill-climbing and teaching others how to ride.
New this time out is a full day of training on the electric carver, the Trikke Tribred Pon-e, a change from the half-day course first offered in Utah in August.
“Electric transportation is a huge industry now,” said Welch. “Trainers need to leave here with a better understanding of the market.”
After finishing the Academy, graduates are presented with a certificate and if all goes according to plan, a full working knowledge of Trikke’s carving vehicles.
The LA Academy is the first of back-to-back events over successive weekends in Los Angeles for the Trikke Academy. Next weekend, the Academy is holding a Riding Clinikk on Saturday and participating in CicLAvia on Sunday.
