UPDATE (11-20-2012): Two more Trikke Trainers have been added to the Trikke Academy riding workshop that takes place before the LSM Ride, Debbie Bumgardner and Martin Vasilevski. As a result, the riding workshop is now available for the first 20 riders who sign up.

Southern California has been good to the Trikke Academy, and on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, the Trikke Academy will be good to Southern California.

How good? The Trikke Academy is serving up a free riding workshop in Long Beach, as part of So Cal’s Last Saturday of the Month Ride for November, also known as the LSM Ride.

“We’re excited to be able to do this,” said Ann Pirone, Academy coordinator. “The So Cal community has been so supportive, it’s our way of saying thanks.”

Since moving the Academy’s headquarters from LA to Vegas earlier this year, the Academy’s Sin City events have been a virtual home-away-from-home for many in the Southern California Trikke world, be it the Academy’s Skki Days, Trikke Trainer seminars or Riding Clinikks.

“We’re looking forward to seeing old friends, as well as meeting new ones,” said Pirone.

Because of the Academy’s preference for smaller class sizes (thus, more effective individual tutoring), the free riding workshop is limited to the first 15 riders who register on this page of Trikke Academy website by Friday, November 23, 2012.

The LSM Ride itself is breaking new ground: for the first time ever, the event will begin in the Belmont Shore region of Long Beach, instead of a few miles west in Shoreline Village. The change means a reversal of course — east to west along the coast, as opposed to west to east — which could eliminate or diminish the strong headwind factor typically associated with the return journey on group rides in Long Beach.

Because this ride falls on the weekend after Thanksgiving, the November LSM is also known as the Carve Off, as in carve the turkey off your … area that fattens up the most during the holiday.

Details for the LSM Ride and riding workshop are as follows:
