A little more than one week after Hurricane Isaac gifted Charleston, South Carolina, with torrential rains and street flooding, the Trikke Academy comes to town this weekend to make waves of a different kind.
In this, its first visit to the charming Southern city, the Academy will stage both its weekend seminar to certify a new group of Trikke Trainers, as well as a Saturday Riding Clinikk for those who wish to hone their carving skills.
And despite the fact the rains flash-flooded parts of the city of 123,000, Academy Coordinator Ann Pirone says that shouldn’t be an issue:
“I checked on the conditions with a cousin of Fred’s [Welch, Academy director], who lives there and plans on attending the Academy. He wrote the following back to me: Flooding is a regular occurrence here, nothing serious.”
Pirone also said that a few spots are still available for the Riding Clinikk, but anyone interested must register by today.
The Trikke Academy will be in Charleston beginning Friday, September 7th.
