Tale of two Februaries

How things have changed since the first LSM Trikke Ride two years ago this weekend.

Four riders attended the first So Cal LSM Ride in Feb. 2011 (top), while 39 riders attended the So Cal LSM in February 2012 (bottom).

Picture it: February, 2011; the first-ever Last Saturday of the Month Ride takes place in Long Beach, California, but the idea was nascent, the weather brutal, and only four riders showed up.

February, 2012: a global Last Saturday/Sunday Ride movement — born a few months earlier — continues to grow; and the original LSM Ride serves as the nucleus of a So Cal Trikke scene that has seen unprecedented growth, as evidenced by that month’s ride, held for the first time in the Santa Clarita Valley of Los Angeles and attended by nearly 40 riders.

On this last weekend of February, 2013, as riders participate in LSM’s around the world and the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles plays host to its first LSM Ride, let’s travel back in time to remember a tale of two Februaries past.

First, relive that very first LSM Ride in Fearless foursome braves brutal carving conditions. Then see how last year’s So Cal LSM Ride raised the bar to a whole new level in Why the LSM in the Santa Clarita Valley was a game-changer for the So Cal carving circuit.
