Safe riding: how to avoid horrors on your Trikke

Because Halloween season can sometimes mean sketchy weather, TrikkeWorld decided to ask Trikke Andy about avoiding the horrors of the road and remain safe while riding.

As the season turns, we find ourselves with shorter days and changing terrain. Riding a Trikke is a lot different than riding any other vehicle out there.

Pay attention to the changing surfaces in your area. Hazard’s such as debris can affect the amount of power you put into each movement. Keeping your focus forward and on track can make all the difference. Here are a few pointers to think about while riding this holiday season.

Safety Check:
Don the proper gear. Be it pads or a helmet. If you do slip, you will be prepared. Wearing safety gear will also improve your riding. Psychologically, you feel safer and will ride better.

Check the Weather:
Knowing how the day may fair is a must in deciding to ride. Safety is always number one.

Know Your Terrain:
Be aware of your riding area. Even if you have traveled the same route countless times, don’t take things for granted.

Pressure Up: Keep tire pressure up, remember target 75 to 80psi. Lower pressure will give you a greater contact patch.

Tighten Up:
The most common issue is not checking the bolts from time to time. A loose Trikke will deliver poor performance and be difficult to ride.

Lubricate It: Keep the bushings lubricated with a little lithium grease, and always wipe away any accumulated debris.

With the holidays near, you don’t want to find yourself on the sidelines while everyone is having fun around you. Take a minute to get prepared and most of all, have fun.
