Return of the prodigal Chickk

Jeri Thompson with Trikke

Jeri Thompson, co-founder of TrikkeWorld Magazine.

Introducing Chickklettes, a new column by TrikkeWorld co-creator Jeri Thompson.

Hello again! Remember me? I was one of the founders of this magazine, then I disappeared for a while. I am back and not planning to go anywhere, unless it’s on a 3CV.

While I was gone, I did some advocacy work with the bike guys. How else to add legitimacy in a two-wheeled world, than join them on the steps of Sacramento? I thought it was important to be visible in their world, standing tall among them with my extra wheel.

I worked as auction coordinator for the California Bicycle Coalition, where their online auctions raised $10,000 for safer cycling in our state. In my mind, that trickles down to us Trikke riders, as users of the streets and public lanes.

As it turns out, I missed my own kind. And we carvers are just a little different than those relegated to two wheels. At least that’s my observance of things. So here I am again, writing about my favorite pastime – carving.

While I was away, there was something growing inside me, an alternate personality, if you will. A person was born, someone I call Trikker Chick. She’s a hardcore fan of the lean. She’s concerned with her health, fitness, riding tips and the maintenance of her 3CV. She also has a lot to say on some very secular topics. She needs to express herself and she does just that.

Trikker Chicks… For Women Who Carve was created way back in June of this year and is growing in readership. The next logical step was to re-hook-up with the hottest online publication that reflects the great pool of talent and diversity we carvers possess. Chickkletts is an extension of that rather shapely arm, featuring my old TrikkeWorld carvings, some new TrikkeWorld carvings, and bite sized morsels from my blog Trikker Chicks. That way, you may consume as much as you can handle in one bite.

So which of my previous Trikker Chicks posts best represent a proper introduction to my latest venture? How do I show you exactly what to expect in the future on this site, under the name Chickkletts? How about a few samples?

My first choice: Trikke Success Story, Number ???, which hits on some of the high and low lights of my fitness journey.

Big Girl Bites takes a chunk out of the illusive dream of fulfillment through eating.

Then there’s my Last Lust Over Sweets post, which I can almost assure you will not be the last. I also like to throw some poetry at you from time to time, I can’t help myself.

So look forward to a whole new way of looking at the ordinary. Look forward to a wild ride. Look forward to Trikker Chicks… For Women Who Carve, and Chickklettes on TrikkeWorld. And remember, it’s not just for women. I swear.

Go on, check me out… I’m not looking.
