Trikke carves up a buzz among electronics geeks
Welcome to Trikke Soup, a new column on TrikkeWorld, featuring a quirky compilation of web carvings about the Trikke. Speaking of which … the three-wheel wonder has been carving up the net more than usual lately, thanks to Trikke’s booth at CES, the glitzy Consumer Electronics Show in — where else? — Vegas.
The result: a lot of reporters, bloggers and gadget geeks being exposed to the Trikke. Case and point: the many reports, blogs and gadget geeks raving about the Trikke on the Internet this month.
“When I saw the Trikke, my eyes lit up like a little kid,” wrote James Floyd Kelly in his Geek Dad column for Wired. “I’ve been looking for an electric vehicle for tooling around the neighborhood and I think I’ve found it.”
Forget the Segway, ride a Trikke!, urges the headline of a Coolest Gadgets review, which goes on to say about the electric Pone: “This fun doesn’t come cheap.”
Yeah, but the fun is so priceless.
An article on Forbes.com talks about the Pon-e’s role in what experts are predicting will be an electric-vehicle boom by 2016. “The Trikke is ready,” writes Jennifer Hicks. “Easy to use? Yes.” She also calls the Tribred an “electric tricycle for grown ups.”
Which is so much fun, it’s priceless.
On the YouTube front, Geeks Hive buzzed about the Pon-e in a quick clip, while a video by Geek Beat featured two announcers who seemed like two kids in a three-wheel toy store.
A site called Earth Techling — who published an article about Trikke Tech in 2009 — was surprised to see the carving machine at the annual Vegas round-up and said: “The company fell off our radar until CES 2012.”
Translation: they’ve been missing out on all that priceless fun.
Stay tuned to see if all the techno-babble — er, techno-buzz — carves it way into sales buzz …
Elsewhere in the Trikke universe: Douglass Weymouth of Santa Cruz Trikke made a video about the Trikke Skki and ski lift safety at the popular Hoodoo Resort in central Oregon; Trikke Indonesia gifted the world with this video of their most recent Car-Free Day, where it rained; and Trikke Français carved up this très cool clip of the Trikke Skki in action.
Last but far from least: hitting the slopes this winter? The electric Trikke Pon-e gives you the ultimate skiers workout, as demonstrated in this Skiers Workout video by Trikke Tech.
