Fireworks Ignite at July LSM

Planet Trikke - Ride Report

Another Large Crowd Flocks to Long Beach

For the third consecutive month, the Last Saturday of the Month Ride was a big hit with So Cal carvers, who once again showed up in blockbuster numbers for the most popular group ride in Southern California.

Held for a third straight month in Long Beach, the July LSM attracted 39 people, including Sissie and Howie, who drove all the way down from San Francisco to be part of the soaring So Cal Trikke circuit.

As a reward, the two Nor Cal carvers were treated to a ride with fireworks, figuratively, if not literally, as there was more drama at this LSM than a cliffhanger episode of Young and Restless.

There was an asthma attack, a near wipe-out in the sand and most dramatic of all, a bike-Trikke collision worthy of the Long Beach Grand Prix. Fortunately, both parties walked away and the female carver involved in the crash heroically and courageously continued onward after a brief patch-up from firefighting veteran Andy Pliska of SouthBay Trikke (sponsors of the LSM, along with TrikkeWorld).

A day of drama indeed, but unlike a soap opera, when the day was over, there were only happy endings.

In total, 125 riders carved up at the last three LSMs for an average of 42 riders per event. Additionally, during that time, fifty-nine attendees stimulated the local economy after the rides with food and drinks at Tequila Jack’s in Shoreline Village.
