“Obesity and Exercise” article made her famous in the Trikke world

First she rode her Trikke alone. Then she became a regular on group rides in Southern California. Then — one year ago, this week — she became the subject of an Los Angeles Times story, inspiring countless women to take up Trikke riding.

Debbie Bumgardner of LA’s San Fernando Valley was a frustrated dieter until she discovered the Trikke. Now she’s an integral part of the local Trikke scene, riding with some of the people she’s inspired and taking on new roles, as well, like event organizer for the So Cal carvers who plan to ride in this month’s Doo Dah Parade in Pasadena.

For Debbie’s reflections on the turn her life has taken since the Times article — plus, to hear from one of the women she inspired — check out this TrikkeWorld video.
