Chronicling the way the Trikke is changing the world, one inspired individual at a time.
TrikkeWorld Magazine is an independent online publication created by passionate Trikke riders to chronicle the ongoing story that is “Trikke Meets World.”
In 2009, Randy Boyd discovered the Trikke on a late-night infomercial, purchased one, fell in love with it and began writing about the joyride of the 21st century on his blog. A short time later, he showed his new toy to his friend Jeri Thompson, and she, too, became hooked on Trikke.
Together, Boyd and Thompson went from riding Trikkes (in Long Beach, California), to organizing group Trikke rides in Southern California with the help of local dealer, SouthBay Trikke. In September, 2010, with Boyd serving as publisher and Thompson as editor, the two began working on the creation of TrikkeWorld — with SouthBay Trikke serving as the official local dealer.
The magazine, billing itself as the chronicle of the carving revolution, went online on January 31, 2011. Thompson remained on as editor until that September, when she took leave while pursuing other interests, including her own blog, Trikker Chicks … for Women who Carve. In November, 2012, Thompson rejoined TrikkeWorld as author of the blog, Chickklettes.
At the end of 2012, TrikkeWorld discontinued its “official local dealer” designation in an effort to provide more balanced coverage of all local dealers. At that same time, it was announced that every dealer would eventually gets its own section of the magazine.
Two years on, TrikkeWorld Magazine remains committed to chronicling the way the Trikke is changing the world, one inspired individual at a time.
In February, 2013, TrikkeWorld and Trikke Tech, Inc., makers of Trikke carving vehicles, entered into a custom publishing agreement, whereby TrikkeWorld will provide content management for the Trikke Tech company blog. As such, all content produced as part of this agreement will include a disclosure when it appears on TrikkeWorld.
