Another year, another full lineup of Trikke events. Call it season three of the So Cal Carving Circuit, filled for the third consecutive year with group rides galore, all of them organized by various Trikke enthusiasts and entities in the Southern California area.
Among the enthusiasts: Claudio Pagan, the Emperor of Endurance, with his signature epic challenges (Buellton and Trikkenut); Lisa Hoolihan, who helms the 26-mile, Aliso Creek adventure, So Cal’s longest-running ride; Martin Vasilevski, the Orange County Trikke Trainer who’s brought more rides and riders to the OC; Rich and Charlene Goff, whose efforts have put the San Gabriel Valley on the local Trikke map; and Quincy and Monica Jeffries, the power couple known for their innovative, “QuMo” productions. And then there are the entities: TrikkeWorld Magazine, SouthBay Trikke and the club they sponsor, So Cal Carvers.
For 2013, these Trikke nuts have dreamt up a schedule that gives Trikke lovers plenty of rides from which to choose, from endurance treks to group rides to a little yearlong competition, which begins at the first event of the year, the 3rd Annual MLK Ride of Long Beach.
Midway through MLK 3, riders who dare will compete in the first of a series Lighthouse Uphill Challenges, all of which will determined to whom goes the LUC Cup, awarded at year’s end.
Another new wrinkle in 2013: the first-ever Last Saturday of the Month Ride in the San Gabriel Valley, which will take place at the end of February. The LSM in the SGV will be hosted by the aforementioned Goffs, who will also file their second Dam Tax Day Ride.
In all, more than two dozen rides are schedule, so far, with the prospect of more to be added later. Here now, a list of confirmed dates on this year’s So Cal Carving Circuit.
